FOR STUDENTS WHO LOVE TO WRITE…
Manhattanville College’s accelerated BA/MFA Creative Writing Program allows a select group of highly qualified undergraduate students to begin taking graduate-level Creative Writing classes the summer before their senior year. After graduating with a BA in English/Creative Writing, these students may complete the MFA Creative Writing degree in as little as one additional year at the college.
HOW IT WORKS:
- Students apply to the accelerated program in their Junior year.
- Once accepted into the BA/MFA program, students attend a Summer Writers’ Week workshop for 2 graduate credits the summer before their senior year.
- In their senior year, students take a graduate foundations creative writing course and a graduate writing workshop
- Students who attend Summer Writers’ Week again the summer after graduation will enter the MFA Program in the fall with 10 graduate academic credits
The MFA Creative Writing Degree is a 36-credit master’s degree program leading to a thesis in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, or screenwriting.
