Publishing Alternatives panel with MFA alumni Tom Lynch and Melissa Marino, and author John Langan
Is the only way to get published through a literary agent or with one of the Big Five? No! Come find out about publishing alternatives! The alumni and editors on this panel will discuss small press publication, electronic/online ‘Zines, self publishing and more. We’ll also cover ways to promote yourself and your work.

Tom lynch, panel moderator: As president of Miskatonic River Press, Tom Lynch published a number of critically acclaimed, award-winning books in varying formats, still for sale on Amazon today. As a writer, Tom’s fiction has appeared in a number of magazines, and books, both online and in print, all with small presses. Tom is a 2017 graduate of the MFA Program.

John Langan is the author of four books, all of which have been published with small presses:  two novels, The Fisherman  (Word Horde 2016) and House of Windows (Night Shade 2009), and two collections, The Wide, Carnivorous Sky and Other Monstrous Geographies (Hippocampus 2013) and Mr. Gaunt and Other Uneasy Encounters (Prime 2008).
Melissa Marino is a two-time Mville alumna (undergraduate and MFA), a licensed mental health counselor, and creative writing instructor. She’s published ten commercial novels, and continues to write genre fiction and young adult stories.”
